The mission of the society is to protect the health and safety of humans, animals and the environment by working toward the following goals:

- Promoting research and implementation of new toxicological approaches for risk assessment.
- Providing and supporting education and training in the field of toxicology.
- Creating forums for exchange of knowledge, ideas, experiences and to promote networking.
- Representing Toxicology as a professional discipline.
- Recognizing the valuable contributions of members to the field and community of toxicologists, and promoting their impact.
- Collaborating with toxicological and related societies around the world.
The registry consists of highly qualified professionals with high responsibility standards. It also allows their European registration.
Goals of the Swiss Registry of Toxicology
- Seize professionals with qualitatively high training degree and responsibility.
- Consider the variety of the basic training.
- Enable an European-wide acknowledgment.
- Complement and not compete against profession-specific training (physician, veterinarians, pharmacists).
- Protect the profession of the toxicologists on one hand and acquaint it with a broad public on the other hand.
Das «One Health»-Konzept ist ein ganzheitlicher Ansatz, um die
Gesundheit von Menschen, Tieren und Umwelt zu verbessern
und nachhaltig zu schützen. In diesem
Kurs stellen wir politische Treiber für die Umsetzung des «One Health»-
Ansatzes vor, wie z.B. die gesetzlichen Rahmenbedingungen und
Richtlinien in der Schweiz, der EU und den USA, insbesondere
in den Bereichen Lebensmittelsicherheit, Tiergesundheit und Umweltschutz.
The online seminar will be held in English every Thursday from October 16th, 2025 until December 11th, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM (CET) (with the exception of October 30th).
It is a pleasure to invite you to to this year’s annual meeting of the Swiss Society of Toxicology. Once again we will offer attractive lectures and sessions with well-balanced input from academia, industry and regulators.
There will be two keynote lectures and the scientific sessions will include presentations on:
• Discrepancies between applied dose and actual dose in in vitro assays
• Smart in vivo Studies, virtual controls and the need of recovery animals and
• Toxicological Effects of Micro- and Nanoplastics.
On the morning following the SST Annual Meeting, there will be a Student Workshop focusing on Career perspectives as a toxicologist. The workshop will be free of charge and will also take place in Basel. Further details on this workshop will be soon published on the Website of the SST.
